Race Background

The Bognor Prom 10K Road Race has been staged every year since 1995, and attracts serious club runners from all over the South of England, as well as individuals and families with no club allegiance. All are equally welcome. It is a major event for Bognor Regis, a day of challenge and personal achievement for runners and a spectacle for the public who line the route.

The 10K race would not be possible without the help of our many sponsors and helpers. Many are acknowledged below, but particular thanks are due to Express Printing who have been closely involved with the event for many years, we would also like to thank Matthews Hanton, Milestones Garage, Extra Mech Services Ltd, J W Sports and Arena Sports Centre all of whom have help and sponsored the Bognor Prom 10K Road Race. Without the support and assistance of our sponsors it would not be possible to run the 10K race in it's community and family friendly format. We are particularly fortunate in Bognor Regis to have the Tone Zone running club, this club is providing more and more support to our Club to enable the Bognor Prom 10K Race to continue in its present family friendly format. So big thank you from us to them and if you do wish to run more than once a year . why not have a look at their site and consider joining up.

We are delighted to welcome CancerWise as our charity partner for 2016 and we hope that the run will raise significant sums of money for this charity as well as other good causes close to the hearts of our runners. At its discretion The Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham may increase monies raised by the runners, through it's top up scheme - full details supplied with race packs. The Club has given away tens of thousands of pounds to charities and good causes from funds raised from this event.

The organizers offer regular training sessions through Road Runners, a small but keen group of runners who meet every Thursday at 7pm at West Park, Bognor Regis. Anyone wishing to join them will be welcome, regardless of ability, just turn up.

The Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham and the Club of Bognor are part of the worldwide organization known as Rotary International. This worldwide fellowship unites men and women in the ideal of service. Both clubs provide most of the 85 marshals needed to manage the road race. Internationally, Rotary has been responsible for raising millions of pounds for such projects as eliminating polio throughout the world, and responding to major emergencies.

The Bognor Prom 10K is a major part of the Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham's annual program of community service and fund-raising.

Information for Runners

This is a flat, high-speed course, awarded Silver grading by BARR. It starts by West Park in Aldwick (with extensive free car parking for competitors), follows the Bognor Regis Esplanade, continues through Felpham and returns along the sea front to finish in West Park. Height undulation is less than two metres; water is available at 5.5K and at the finish. A rolling road closure operates where public highways are used. The course is marshaled throughout, allowing for a maximum race time limit of 90 minutes. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal - to be worn with pride!

Toilets are available, but there are no changing or bag storage facilities. The course is regrettably unsuitable for wheelchairs and competitors are not allowed to run with dogs or be accompanied by cyclists or other wheeled carriages. If you run wearing head phones please ensure volume is low enough so that you can hear what is occurring around you.

Chip timing is an established feature of the race. It relies on all competitors bringing their supplied chip with them. Remember- No chip, No time. Chips are disposable - so no need to return them at the end of the race. Every competitor who provides a valid mobile phone number will receive a SMS text of their finishing time. Full results will be posted on:

and in the Bognor Regis Observer.

How can you raise funds for charity or good causes?

Use the Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham, Official Sponsorship form that will be sent to you with your race number. You obviously can raise sponsorship for any charity you wish, but if you are undecided why not consider raising funds for our charity partner - CancerWise. CancerWise is an independent cancer support charity based in Chichester. The charity has been in operation for over 25 years. CancerWise offers support to cancer patients and their families, encouraging them to live as well as possible on a day to day basis. CancerWise is a drop in centre offering one to one counseling and a range of complimentary therapies as well as support groups, either cancer specific or social. Approximately 250 people per month access the services of CancerWise, which are funded through donations, community fundraising events and grants. By running for CancerWise you will make a real difference to people living with cancer.
