Introduction

The Bognor Prom 10k Road Race is organised by the Bognor Regis Tone Zone Runners in conjunction with the Bognor Hotham Rotary Club Trust Fund (Charity Number 1039210).

 

The following sets out the Terms and Conditions which each race participant agrees to at the point of entry. Each participant is required to accept these terms before an entry will be accepted and processed.

 

Minimum Age Restrictions by Distance

Junior Fun Run – 4 years up to 14 years old on Race Day.

  • Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

10k Race – 15 years or older on Race Day.

Wheelchair & Disabled Race - 15 years on Race Day.

 

Entry Details

Each entrant must fill in their own details to enter. An email address is required for all entries. All correspondence will be via email. A separate email address for each participant is preferred but not required, however please note if you do not supply a separate email address for each participant Bognor Prom 10k Road Race cannot be responsible for information not being passed on to a participant.

 

All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information (including medical information entered on their runner bib or collected by medical staff during or after the Event) can be stored, used and disclosed by Bognor Prom 10k Road Race in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the Event and for the compilation of statistical information. At the total discretion of the organisers all entry fees are non-refundable, non-deferrable and non-transferable, even in the case of cancellation.

 

Your Health

Running is a physically active sport. You should always seek advice from your GP before taking up a strenuous physical pursuit such as this. You accept that you do so entirely at your own risk and that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and able to take part. Please do not take part if you feel unwell.

 

Each participant must agree to the disclaimer, declaration and these terms and conditions before participating. All participants understand that they enter at their own risk and that no person(s) or organisation(s) will be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss, prior to, during or after the event. Entrants must be capable of completing the full distance, start line to finish line.

 

Bognor Prom 10k Road Race  and its volunteers do not accept responsibility for injury, loss and damage sustained by a participant unless the above injury, loss and damage is proven to have been caused as a direct result of negligence on the part of the organisers.

 

Delivery Policy

Upon receipt of your entry Bognor Prom 10k Road Race will process your entry and send you a confirmation email, this will include your unique reference code and any fees paid. Depending on the date of your entry you will receive a number of things from Bognor Prom 10k Road Race which may include a training programme, updates on Race day and your entrant race pack. Your race pack will include your Race Number, Race Instructions, Sponsorship Form and additional leaflets/flyers from our partners and sponsors.

 

All race pack items are subject to product availability, if an item in your race pack is unavailable, you may receive the part of your race pack that is available. When a missing item becomes available, depending on the missing item we may post it to you or request you download the item from our website when it is available.

 

Race Day

By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in the event to be used to publicise the Bognor Prom 10k Road Race. Junior Fun Run entrants are required to opt in and provide consent to the use of any footage or photographs taken during their participation in the event to be used to publicise the Bognor Prom 10k Road Race.

 

Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, marshals, volunteers, medical personnel, security officers and local officials throughout the duration of the event.

 

All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. This means, for example, that urinating or defecating anywhere on or near the course shall be strictly prohibited except in toilet facilities. Anyone violating this rule shall mean a person will be disqualified from all future Bognor Prom 10k Road Race events and will be asked to leave the site.

 

Numbered runner bibs are specific personal identifiers, which are unique to you. They cannot be exchanged, given to or sold to any other person. Runner bibs must be worn on the front and as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number. All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of the race number, which must be worn on the front of their shirt/top throughout the duration of the run.

 

Baby joggers, buggies and baby strollers are not permitted.

 

Bikes, stilts, roller skates, skateboards, etc. are not permitted and those attempting to do so will be prohibited from starting and may be forcibly removed from the course mid-race. Likewise, anyone attempting to start or join the race in any outfit that we, in our absolute discretion, deem unsuitable and/or dangerous to other competitors or spectators, will not be allowed to start the race or, if on the course, may be removed.

 

Event officials reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel, alter the route, or not officially time the race in adverse weather conditions or other events outside of the organisers control. The determination of what constitutes this is reserved solely by Bognor Prom 10k Road Race Director and the Race Adjudicator. No refund will be issued in these circumstances.

 

The Race Village is free for all to access and enjoy, please respect the area and use the bins provided, fires are not permitted in any area and will be extinguished. Once the Race Village closes, please respect the residents nearby and leave the site quietly.

 

Disclaimer(s)

In order to run in the Bognor Prom 10k Road Race and the Wheelchair & Disabled Race, entrants must agree the following disclaimer:

 

“In completing this entry I declare that I, or anyone that I am paying for, will not compete in the Event unless medically fit to do so and that, in any Event, we will compete at my/our own risk. I accept that the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, costs or expenses which may arise in consequence of my/our participation in the Event. I/We understand that entry fees are non-refundable. I also hereby give my permission to use my/our name, quotes, video footage, and photographic likeness for marketing and promotional purposes. I also agree to the full Terms and Conditions as displayed on the Event website http://www.bognorprom10k.org/

 

In order to run in the Bognor Prom 10k Junior Fun Run, entrants must agree the following disclaimer:

“Any child under 8 must be accompanied throughout by a responsible adult in the Junior Fun Run. The accompanying adult must have completed the entry for the Junior Fun Run and accepts full responsibility for the child's safety and wellbeing.

In completing this entry I declare that I, or anyone that I am paying for, will not compete in the Event unless medically fit to do so and that, in any Event, we will compete at my/our own risk. I accept that the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, costs or expenses which may arise in consequence of my/our participation in the Event. I/We understand that entry fees are non-refundable.

Refunds, Deferral and Transfer Policy

At the total discretion of the organisers all entries and associated fees are non-refundable, non-deferrable and non-transferable, even in the case of cancellation. During the entry process you are specifically requested to acknowledge this as part of the entry acceptance. The Bognor Prom 10k Road Race is a charity event and your entry fee will distributed to our charity partners for worthwhile causes.

 

Amending Your Entry

You can amend your entry at any time up to the point where Bognor Prom 10k Road Race have downloaded your data and the process of sending your race pack is underway.

 

Entries are processed from Mid-March and so amendments made up to this date will be processed accordingly. After this date you are advised to contact us at info.bognor10k@gmail.com to indicate any important changes you need to make to your entry.

 

Privacy Policy and Data Protection

The privacy of our race entrants is extremely important to us so please take time to look at the Privacy Policy on our website to see why we collect this information and how we use your data.

 

We only use the information we collect about you lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We will never sell, trade or rent your details to any third parties. We collect personal information about you (name, address, email etc) when you enter the race. Your details are only used to provide you with the Service you have requested, if you change your mind about receiving any information from us at any time, you can ‘unsubscribe' by clicking on the unsubscribe link on an email or by emailing info.bognor10k@gmail.com. However please be aware that some details are necessary for your race entry, if you do ask us to delete them your entry may be cancelled.

 

10k and Wheelchair & Disabled Race Declaration

Entrants to the Bognor Prom 10k Road Race must be 15 years or older on the day of the race. Taking part in a 10k is a very rewarding experience, however it is not to be undertaken lightly. You need to be physically fit to complete the distance. If in doubt consult your doctor. Do not take part if you are feeling unwell. I agree to abide by the rules of UK Athletics and the event. I understand that I enter the race at my own risk and that no person(s) or organisation(s) will be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to myself, prior to, during or after the event. I understand the organisers reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel, or not officially time the race in the event of adverse weather conditions or other events outside the organisers' control. The determination of what constitutes this is reserved solely by Bognor Prom 10k Road Race Director and the Race Adjudicator.

 

Entry fees are non-refundable, non-deferrable and non-transferable, even in the case of event cancellation. Photographs of the race will be taken for publicity purposes. I understand that my image may be used and give permission freely for it to be used.

 

Overseas competitors should contact us at info.bognor10k@gmail.com to indicate a UK forwarding address or their race packs will be held to be collected from the Marquee in the Race Village on Race Day.

 

We will not provide your data to any third parties, unless it is wholly necessary to complete your race entry. Please read our Privacy Policy for further information.

 

Junior Fun Run Race Declaration
